Tryst With Destiny

No, today we are not celebrating Independence Day or Republic day. But yet, today I want everyone of you to remember "Tryst with Destiny" the speech that was a speech delivered by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India, to the Indian Constituent Assembly in The Parliament, on the eve of India's Independence, towards midnight on 14 August 1947.

(If you haven't read it so far, go ahead, it was one of the greatest speeches of all times)

Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, then an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance.

It is fitting that at this solemn moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity.

At the dawn of history India started on her unending quest, and trackless centuries which are filled with her striving and the grandeur of her success and her failures. Through good and ill fortunes alike she has never lost sight of that quest or forgotten the ideals which gave her strength. We end today a period of ill fortunes and India discovers herself again.

The achievement we celebrate today is but a step, an opening of opportunity, to the greater triumphs and achievements that await us. Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp this opportunity and accept the challenge of the future?

Freedom and power bring responsibility. The responsibility rests upon this assembly, a sovereign body representing the sovereign people of India. Before the birth of freedom we have endured all the pains of labour and our hearts are heavy with the memory of this sorrow. Some of those pains continue even now. Nevertheless, the past is over and it is the future that beckons to us now.

That future is not one of ease or resting but of incessant striving so that we might fulfill the pledges we have so often taken and the one we shall take today. The service of India means the service of the millions who suffer. It means the ending of poverty and ignorance and disease and inequality of opportunity.

The ambition of the greatest man of our generation has been to wipe every tear from every eye. That may be beyond us, but as long as there are tears and suffering, so long our work will not be over.

And so we have to labour and to work, and work hard, to give reality to our dreams. Those dreams are for India, but they are also for the world, for all the nations and peoples are too closely knit together today for anyone of them to imagine that it can live apart.

Peace has been said to be indivisible; so is freedom, so is prosperity now, and so also is disaster in this one world that can no longer be split into isolated fragments.

To the people of India, whose representatives we are, we make an appeal to join us with faith and confidence in this great adventure. This is no time for petty and destructive criticism, no time for ill will or blaming others. We have to build the noble mansion of free India where all her children may dwell.

The appointed day has come - the day appointed by destiny - and India stands forth again, after long slumber and struggle, awake, vital, free and independent. The past clings on to us still in some measure and we have to do much before we redeem the pledges we have so often taken. Yet the turning point is past, and history begins anew for us, the history which we shall live and act and others will write about.

It is a fateful moment for us in India, for all Asia and for the world. A new star rises, the star of freedom in the east, a new hope comes into being, a vision long cherished materialises. May the star never set and that hope never be betrayed!

We rejoice in that freedom, even though clouds surround us, and many of our people are sorrow-stricken and difficult problems encompass us. But freedom brings responsibilities and burdens and we have to face them in the spirit of a free and disciplined people.

On this day our first thoughts go to the architect of this freedom, the father of our nation, who, embodying the old spirit of India, held aloft the torch of freedom and lighted up the darkness that surrounded us.

We have often been unworthy followers of his and have strayed from his message, but not only we but succeeding generations will remember this message and bear the imprint in their hearts of this great son of India, magnificent in his faith and strength and courage and humility. We shall never allow that torch of freedom to be blown out, however high the wind or stormy the tempest.

Our next thoughts must be of the unknown volunteers and soldiers of freedom who, without praise or reward, have served India even unto death.

We think also of our brothers and sisters who have been cut off from us by political boundaries and who unhappily cannot share at present in the freedom that has come. They are of us and will remain of us whatever may happen, and we shall be sharers in their good and ill fortune alike.

The future beckons to us. Whither do we go and what shall be our endeavour? To bring freedom and opportunity to the common man, to the peasants and workers of India; to fight and end poverty and ignorance and disease; to build up a prosperous, democratic and progressive nation, and to create social, economic and political institutions which will ensure justice and fullness of life to every man and woman.

We have hard work ahead. There is no resting for any one of us till we redeem our pledge in full, till we make all the people of India what destiny intended them to be.

We are citizens of a great country, on the verge of bold advance, and we have to live up to that high standard. All of us, to whatever religion we may belong, are equally the children of India with equal rights, privileges and obligations. We cannot encourage communalism or narrow-mindedness, for no nation can be great whose people are narrow in thought or in action.

To the nations and peoples of the world we send greetings and pledge ourselves to cooperate with them in furthering peace, freedom and democracy.

And to India, our much-loved motherland, the ancient, the eternal and the ever-new, we pay our reverent homage and we bind ourselves afresh to her service. Jai Hind.

My point to bring out the speech today here is that The First Ever PM of India also had dreamed about not fighting on the communal issues and here I request everyone to re-read his beautiful words and bring out the spark of actual freedom in you. 

Even he said that with freedom comes responsibility and I wish each and every citizen of India should be asking this question to themselves "Are we responsible enough?"

The Digital Hartal

The Internet Hartal (Netizen's Strike) message flowing all over the net in last 3 days, is going to happen today 31^st October 2014. In a time where internet is as good as literacy, government should be in support to try and make internet free so as more and more people of India can get the access to the huge platform. But it is sad to see that the telecom companies are not interested about the better future of nation and what people are getting with the popularity of internet. Instead, they are taking it as an addiction and are increasing rate of data plans.

Protesting is a good option to stand up against them, but it would have been even better if one of the new companies comes up and offer better plans and we people can switch to it, so as to give the clear message to every telecom company that we do have the power to rule you.

In a first-of-its kind, the district unit of the Communist Party of India has appealed through social media to boycott internet-usage for one day on October 31. The ‘digital- hartal’, is a protest against the indiscriminate hike in prices by internet service providers.

The district secretary of the CPI, A Narayanan said, the telecom companies have been increasing the rates of internet packages without reason. The government of India should step in to regulate the price structure to bring credibility to the government’s goal of reducing the digital gap and create smart cities.

Narayanan lamented that telecom operators had increased mobile Internet rates 100 per cent in the June-September period across the country. This has especially adversely affected smart phone users. The hartal is to vent anger against these telecom operators by boycotting the use of Internet on October 31, Narayanan said and added “Our party will extended full cooperation in the fight against telecom operators in the district.  This is the first time, we have plunged ourselves on a digital platform.”

 ‘WhatsApp’ users seem to be at the forefront of this agitation. Its users are messaging each other of the need to be united and fight the internet price hike. Some college students said, “If the telecom companies keep hiking the rates of Internet packages, then we will have to stop using the Internet and not use any applications. We will also not recharge our data packs on that day.” 

“We want to send a clear message to the operators that we are not addicted to Internet,” said Rajesh an engineering student.

Scams & Scandals on Yojanas made By Govt.

Today as I was reading the Local newspaper of city named NOBAT, one of its articles appealed my eyes. No the news wasn’t fascinating at all but somehow it wasn’t actually a news. It was featuring the news about scandal in government’s Khilkhilat Yojana by G.G.Hospital (Jamnagar). The cut of article can be seen below, for those who can read gujarati:

For those who can’t read gujarati, let me elaborate. Under the government’s khilkhilat yojana, some of the government hospitals are providing drop back service in the ambulance for those ladies who has newly given birth to a baby in the hospital, with the baby care kit and kit beneficial to mother’s health as well. But this yojana isn’t benefiting the normal people and those ladies and their kids for whom the yojana was developed. The hospital staff or people involved in providing the facility are taking the benefits by providing false record and raising funds for their own pocket.

My first question is, do you think this is news? Of course it is a news as it is featured in the newspaper but come on, we all know that this kind of yojana are just made for the name sake. It has always been beneficial to the makers and workers but not the normal public, for whom actually the yojana was developed. All those who are educated, keep in touch with news and the happening of society, we all know that this kind of government yojana are taking away lots and lots of fund for the benefit of people, but the benefits hardly reach those who have right over it. Hardly 20% of the total benefits might be reaching to the actual public for whom the yojanas are made. Not only this, but haven’t we all seen those shops made by government to deliver grocery items on low rate to the public, have we not seen the constant unavailability of food items or contaminated items being provided by the shop. Haven’t we seen those yojanas providing house to the poor people on low rates being allotted to relatives of the people working in particular department. Come on, we know everything most of us can just make out that when the yojana is made, who will benefit and how. People like us laugh after reading it, but those who are in need, who have hopes from the government keep their eye on such yojanas. They sometimes run to the places, try hard, stand in long queues and hardly get anything.

My question to all of you is, when we know each and everything happening around us in a very obvious manner, why are we always silent? And if we all normal people can make out this normal happening around us, can the people making those yojana can’t see? Why only when media takes over any issue the serious decisions are taken? My point is that why can’t we have a direct complaint option, which could reach without interruption to the government?

Mr. Narendra Modi after being a PM is no doubt trying to do a great job by creating many beneficial plans and keeping an eye on his ministers etc. But our country and specially those people working on government sector are just fearless. There are no strict laws for corruption, if media catches someone live they are suspended, is that enough? No it is not at all enough and the system, the way our government is dealing with those age old options isn’t right, because we now have many more powerful options and not using them in a right way is total stupidity. I believe our PM has a vision of better nation but his vision needs to go long and long enough so as to reach each and every one of 1.252 billion people of India.

How is it possible? It is possible with the efforts from each one of us. The way RTI has decreased many issues and created a fear to give a responsible answer after being questioned by any normal person is just outstanding. And I believe we should have a similar way of making our complaint reach directly to the highest authorities without any interference.

Can government not create a website with a complaint form, where in any normal person can reach with any proof or information that he has against the corrupt government employees? The process could be very simple, you can input your PAN / Passport / Adhar Card number and feed in your contact details as well as elaborate the detailed information of the corruption with attachment of the proofs. Nowadays our mobile makes it really easy for any one of us to take and capture the proofs. And all those proof directly can reach our ministry or may be the panel specially made for it and that panel can inquire or take action about the complaint without disclosing the name of a person who complained against them. And taking the reference of government id number can also stop people from giving false complaints.

I am raising this voice to let our Honorable PM read it and look in to the matter with his powerful vision and capable team to come to a solution for this. And I request each and every one of my reader to spread this message, so much that it gets read by the governing authorities. It is my humble appeal, to speak up and do not stay quite. I know this yojana and its benefits are not for you and me, but it surely helps those needy people, finally its our money, that hard earned money, which we pay to government in the form of tax and that money is the money used for the betterment of our nation and the people living therein. We should be as thoughtful in this matter as we are when using or expending our money. The right money, the right fund and the right benefit of any yojana should only go to the person who deserves it rightly. And we have to raise our voice for this, we have to raise our voice for those who don't have a voice. Coz if we do not raise our voice for them, their voice will never be heard by anyone. We are the youth and today with the social media taking control on everything we youth are a super power. We should not waste our power, we should raise our power, we should all together fight for better India and speak up for anything that is happening around us.

God has never promised us the smooth roads to our destination, but he has promised to be with us in our hard times. We all go through tough times, hardships, broken hearts and grudges. We all have enemies that never turn into friends, we all have friends whom we cannot always trust, we have family to support us but yet the misunderstandings do occur, we have unconditional love of our children but yet generation gap and some hard decision do take over. There are lots and lots of problems in life of each and every one of us. We all face those time when we feel like giving up, we may become discouraged and don’t feel like continuing to fight the battles of life.

Many a times we may feel like we are on a treadmill running with everything we have and getting nowhere. Life can sometime become stale and boring, pointless. Sometimes we may feel as if we can’t muster enough energy to continue life’s journey. There comes that phase of life to each one of us where we feel that troubles and trials are knocking us down. There is no way we can keep the hardship out of our lives, no matter how hard we try but somehow it always manages to find a way in.

Someone somewhere has given us a hope by creating morning after every night, hope after every destruction and eyes to see that there is someone in the world that is living even more painful life than yours. Be gratified that you have your hands, legs, eyes, ears and many as such things which are more important in your life than anything else. Jobs, business, materialistic things and luxury all comes and goes, but it does not bring much of happiness. Love, now hardly exist in the world full of selfishness and people with lies, but even if you find a true love it’s not going to make you happy for good. Family & friends are surely a great support and do stand with you in times of need, but no one is going to stay with you forever. Your kids were not with you when you were born, your parents would possibly not be with you when you die, your friends change with age, sometimes because of their life, change of city or job any circumstances. In this fast moving world you won’t find a single friend with whom you grew up, to stay with you till the end of the time.

Today, I am not explaining it to you all the importance and significance of things, friends, family, status or anything else. But today I am talking to myself and making me understand that nothing is forever and so wasting your tears on the all that is just a mistake. Never give up, never be afraid to be alone or left out, it’s all a part of the life and you yourself are the heart of your own life.

Sometimes life closes doors because it’s time to move forward. And that’s a good thing because we often won’t move unless circumstances force us to. When time is tough remind yourself that no pain comes without a purpose, move on from what hurt you, but never forget the lesson it taught you. Just because you are struggling or facing a hard time, doesn’t mean you are failing. Stay patient and stay positive, everything is going to come to an end, even the pain. May be not immediately but eventually.

Every time it rains, it stops raining.  Every time you get hurt, you heal.  After darkness there is always light – you are reminded of this every morning, but still you often forget, and instead choose to believe that the night will last forever.  It won’t.  Nothing lasts forever.

So if things are good right now, enjoy it.  It won’t last forever.  If things are bad, don’t worry because it won’t last forever either.  Just because life isn’t easy at the moment, doesn’t mean you can’t laugh.  Just because something is bothering you, doesn’t mean you can’t smile.  Every moment gives you a new beginning and a new ending.  You get a second chance, every second.  You just have to take it and make the best of it.

Don’t ever be ashamed of the scars life has left you with.  A scar means the hurt is over and the wound is closed.  It means you conquered the pain, learned a lesson, grew stronger, and moved forward.  A scar is the tattoo of a triumph to be proud of.  Don’t allow your scars to hold you hostage.  Don’t allow them to make you live your life in fear.  You can’t make the scars in your life disappear, but you can change the way you see them.  You can start seeing your scars as a sign of strength and not pain.

Today I sincerely hope that what I wrote motivated you and myself too. I hope I will have a better view of troubles henceforth and I will read this article whenever I feel down.

The Ticking Time Bomb - One More Issue

The 4^th Episode of Satyamev Jayate 2014 season, featured today (26^th Oct 2014) was about The Ticking Time Bomb – TB (Tuberculosis). No doubt Aamir Khan is doing a great job by bringing out the most awaited topics, giving information about it and making nation aware about it as well. The one of its kind show is a true inspiration and knowledge for each and every one of us. It always brings out the burning social issue plaguing the Indian Society.

Today when Aamir Khan spoke about TB and phrased it Ticking Time Bomb, it straight away poked my mind. I am myself a survivor of tuberculosis, thou not that worst as what it was shown on the show. But it could have been worst, only if the negligence would have gone a little far. Today, I am inspired to share my story of how hardly my TB was diagnosed and how my family had lost the hope before even knowing that I had TB.

I gave birth to a baby gal on 14^th July 2010 and within just 18 – 20 days’ time, I suddenly caught high fever. Initially my family gave me some home remedies, which when did not affect me; I was taken to a normal physician. For about 3 weeks I was given antibiotics and drugs for the viral fever without any tests. Day would usually go good, with bit of temperature going up and down but evenings went horrible, cold and fever use to catch me badly. At times I use to shiver whole nights with more than 3 blankets on me, yet my doctor never asked me to go for any test till about 3 weeks, while I visited him almost 5 times during those 3 weeks’ time. Finally, after about 22 days I myself changed the physician and went to a trusted name of the city. Private Doctor, with a small hospital and no appointment or time schedule been given to the patient.

I had a baby with cesarean before 1 and half month and despite of knowing everything I was made to seat for hours waiting for the doctor. Leaving apart the trouble of seeing a doctor, he straight away gave me the medicines for Malaria, without going for any clinical tests. He gave me 15 days course of the medicine and asked me to come after 15 days. Nothing worked in those days, first few days it felt like fever is going low, but then it happened as it was before. I waited for 15 days but nothing happened, I again went to see the doctor and he insisted me to continue the medicine for 1 more week. Day by day I was getting weak, it was getting hard for me to wait for doctor for hours, leaving home my 2 month old child. But Doctor had nothing to do with my problems, he just had his own rules and no appointment or schedule systems. After those 3 weeks he finally asked me to go for clinical test for malaria but reports were negative, yet Doctor said that sometimes report does not show but it surely is malaria. I was at the best doctor’s clinic in the city and I had no better choice so I agreed to what he said. He said that medicines aren’t working for me and I must be taking IV drugs, so then for next two week 3 days a week I was given medicine in my vain thru IV. But yet nothing worked and the side effects of medicines were so bad, I lost my appetite, I lost my strength and a bit of hope too.

Yet after taking IV drugs, I still was in the same condition as I was on first day, fever was still taking over me every evening and I had no choice but to bare it. Then the same doctor asked me to go for a typhoid test, which again was negative but as per his earlier story, he gave me the same reason that sometimes reports don’t show and started to give me medicines for typhoid. Almost 4 weeks of medicines of typhoid and I still wasn’t cured. Again he said that medicines aren’t working and I need to take IV drugs. 3 more weeks I was taking the IV drugs for typhoid and still the fever wasn’t ready to move away when finally my family lost hopes over me. Mom cried and informed my sister that I was not going to survive as no medicines were working for me. I was so much irritated with irresponsible behaviour of doctor and those waiting hours with a body that was not even able to stand for 10 minutes. For few days, I just took nimesulide drugs by choice which was initially given to me, without thinking or knowing anything about the medicine much as I had already lost the hopes on doctor and at least that drug was relieving my fever for few hours.

Finally, my sister and jiju came down all the way from Nairobi after hearing about my situation from my mother. They inspired me to not give up and see the doctor once again, we again went to the doctor and yet he did not seem to have any specific answer to my illness. Finally when my jiju got aggressive about his negligence and asked him that if he cannot treat me, he should refer me to some better doctor, he asked me to visit a new hospital in town. I was admitted in the hospital for about 5 days and about 20 of test occurred on me and finally doctor declared that I had tuberculosis. Till that time my haemoglobin level had fallen to 3.1 and I was hardly able to do my tasks on my own. Every now and then I was suffering from loss of breath and sometimes was losing my consciousness too. But I was to survive and hence my TB was diagnosed and I was given medicine course of 6 months, which was finally working on me starting from the 1^st week itself.

But all this medical negligence from a reputed doctor made me lose 14 kgs of weight and it took me about 18 months to fully recover from the situation.

I did not have any financial issues, I was visiting the most reputed doctor of my town and yet all those months I had to suffer with false diagnosis and guesses of him. After seeing the today’s episode of Satyamev Jayate, I am on thoughts that what would be happening to those less fortunate people who cannot even put expenses on the their health. It looks like my blood is freezing hearing the stories and condition of those sufferers that were brought on the show today. Can we all, I mean we all the normal public can’t do something about this? Can this kind of medical negligence be not taken to the court or can we not have some kind of standards of those doctors, just like ISO or something?? Which could finally guide us that what kind of treatment we need and what grade of doctors are we visiting?

We need to think a lot on this matter, not only from the way of treatment and awareness but the even serious issue is negligence of doctors. And this is my serious appeal to each and every doctor of the country.. ‘You are not God, but we people have given you the consideration of God and we put you in their place, Please for heaven sake do not play with the lives of innocent and if the treatment is not in your hand, inform the patient to see better doctors or hospitals’.

Lost Clean India After Diwali???

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi exhorted people to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of clean India on 2^nd October 2014 – Gandhi Jayanti. Launching the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan at Rajpath in New Delhi PM gave us knowledge about our social responsibility by reminding the Clean India dream of Mahatma Gandhi.

Keeping aside the political impact on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan or Clean India, if we look at the casual view from the side of normal people, the success of this mission could give us a better atmosphere, better society and healthy environment for ourselves and our children. Many big names and fames joined this moment on the day and were seen in news thereafter also following the great epitome of it. But where are we?

Talking about government has always been an easy deal for each one of us, but this time government or better mention the prime minister himself has given a task to you and that too in the benefit of yourselves and your society. So what are we doing about the particular task? Are we cleaning our homes? Are we cleaning our neighborhoods? Are we inspiring the people to keep our city clean? No!!!

We simply did some cleaning of our houses on the occasion of Diwali and now we are too tired to even think of cleaning the roads, which we messed up ourselves by the dust of fire crackers. Diwali time, we had lots of fun; we fired lots of crackers on the name of festival, polluted the atmosphere and enjoyed doing it. But now we are done with the festival, some rest and then we need to get back to work for our responsibility as student, professional, employee, employer or housewife. But then what about our duty as citizen? Ever thought about being a good citizen of the nation that we denote as Mother India???

Many of us, when we travel to different countries and see the beautiful clean atmosphere around ourselves, we feel so glad. It gives us the blossom in our heart, the sadness, negative thoughts and all those blue feelings vanishes with the beauty in environment! But do you know that in those particularly clean countries, if you throw the waste here and there, you will be fined hard. And next if you see the atmosphere already very clean, you would not even dare to throw the dust anywhere, that’s the human psychology. But then why can’t we create the same atmosphere and same environment around us and carry that beautiful blossom within our heart for good?

Health is wealth and the first step towards the health is healthier and clean surroundings. Open your heart, open your mind and go out of your house. At least clean the mess that you and your family has created in your own street, go for the first step and rest you all are intelligent enough, once you start it, I am sure there will be no look back.

Let’s stand up, hold those brooms and give our this Sunday to #CleanIndia moment, which then will bring better India for us and our future generations. 

It's My Voice & Voice of many other Gals..

You think you know me, but you don’t. You believe you feel my pain, but you can’t. You witness my tears and say you will try to understand, but you won’t…. No, you won’t.

I am a person very unfamiliar to you. My past treated me with insufferable evil and much unkindness. I felt abandoned and ashamed, as it left me with countless questions even I cannot answer. Grown-ups always appeared to hate me. For some unknown reason, I was a target for those who wanted revenge or wished to use me. Just as nobody who meant nothing to anyone. No voice. No choice. No hope.

I spent much time in my room as a child. It seemed there I was protected, and no one could harm me. I wrote poems, I sketched, I dreamed. Dreams were a way of escape from a world of pain and weeping. But it appeared dreams would never come true for this little girl. I never found my place in this cold and indifferent world. A child that was afraid of speaking the truth to anyone for fear of being ridiculed and faulted. To them, would my accusations only be something considered imaginary? I wondered if the world would always propose this type of injustice. Thus, I remained silent.

Years upon years kept serving the same unappealing meal to my table. My plate remained empty, for my soul could no longer tolerate the scraps life offered me. Why did I not deserve better? Though diligent in my efforts, a solution remained undiscovered. I only continued to travel the same path of disappointment and misery, because it was all known to me. And I was too terrified to make any unfamiliar turns. The wall of protection I created became too high for anyone to climb.

Some friends, some close one did entered the walls and tried to know me tried to talk to me, at the first few moment it was all a good feeling, then later I came to know that all those who made efforts to climb that wall and reach me were there to scatter me more, hurt me more and use me more. They came, they played and then they left.. They left me more broken, more hurt more crying. Finally a day came when tears dried out, no hurt was hurting me so much, no I wasn’t ever a stone hearted person but this world made me become as such. I, now did not had a heart that bleed, cry or loved, now I hold a heart that is motionless, without feelings and without any love left there in.

I am betrayed, cheated and crushed so many times that now it’s hard for me to believe that any goodness is yet left in the world. For me it is a world full of grudges, full of cheaters, liars and those people who are waiting to destroy someone who is soft hearted and innocent.

This is my story and story of many more girls with the innocent hearts, who then turned out to be stone hearted or a bitch. But before pointing fingers to them, try knowing their turn, trying knowing their misery and try knowing a gal that is dead within.

Rajneeti Ki Ganga

Not exactly, but he starts getting counted in one of the white collared big heads of the town. He gets right to be present between the best business men of town or school / college inauguration and award functions. He starts getting invited as a chief guest on the prestigious occasions being held in the town and nearby area.

After this clarification let me concentrate on the figures of previous election and the leaders ruling us. The mentioned figures are taken from the ADR (Association For Democratic Reforms) website.

About 30% (162 of 543) MPs in Lok Sabha have pending criminal cases against them.

About 14% (76 of 543) MPs in Lok Sabha have serious pending criminal cases.

About 58% (315 of 543) MPs in Lok Sabha are crorepatis.

Only 11% (59 of 543) MPs in Lok Sabha are women.

Isn’t this figure kind of heartbreaking? And the fact is that it is increasing with every election. Comparing the figures from 2004 to 2009 it has increased and coming time will only tell what 2014 elections are going to bring for us. What are we doing? Why are we doing it? We have a right to vote and we are responsible for whom we select, so indeed it’s our mistake, the mistake of a common man to be selecting this kind of leaders. We need to wake up and decrease this figures in 2014, we have to use our vote wisely and select our leaders very very wisely. I surely understand that there is no clean cheated party, but party really needs to know that they must have clean cheat candidate in order to win. So, don’t think big, start with a small thinking, you don’t have to think which party is going to rule the country, you are just responsible to vote for a candidate from your area, who has a clean background and who is wise enough to be a leader. If every one of us will think in that way, I am sure the most deserving party will be the leader soon. We don’t want Modi, We don’t want Rahul, We neither could tolerate the drama of Kejriwal, we must wish only for the best deserving candidate. The person who brings out the best leaders in each and every part of the country, could only be our leader. Because looking closely on any picture, one political leader can’t make a true difference to the condition of country when he doesn’t have a good support.

Analysis of Declared Criminal Cases

Candidates with Criminal Cases: Out of 188 candidates analysed, 56 candidates (30%) had declared criminal cases against themselves in their previous election affidavit. BJP has 23 out of 62 candidates (37%) with criminal cases and INC has 33 out of 126 (25%) candidates with criminal cases.

Candidates with Serious Criminal Cases: 24 candidates (13%) out of 188 analysed had declared serious criminal cases against themselves in their previous election affidavits. 14 out of 62 (23%) candidates of BJP and 10 out of 126 (8%) candidates of INC have declared serious criminal cases against themselves.

Candidates with Cases of Murder and related: 2 candidates had declared cases of murder in their previous election affidavits. Adhir Ranjan Choudhary (Sitting MP) of INC from Baharampur Constituency and Sarbananda Sonowal of BJP from Lakhimpur constituency had declared a case of murder against themselves.

Candidates with Cases of Attempt to Murder: 3 candidates announced by INC have declared charges of attempt to murder. Abdul Mannan Hossain (Sitting MP) from Murshidabad constituency, Ratna Singh (Sitting MP) from Pratapgarh constituency and Vinay Kumar Pandey (Sitting MP) from Shrawasti constituency have declared a case of attempt to murder against himself.

Candidates with cases of Kidnapping and related: Gopinath Munde (Sitting MP) of BJP from Beed Constituency and Abdul Mannan Hossain (Sitting MP) of INC from Murshidabad Constituency have declared cases of kidnapping.

Candidates with cases related to electoral violations: 4 candidates announced by the major parties have declared cases related to electoral violations. Nana Patole of BJP from Bhandara – Gondiya Constituency and Ch. Bijendra Singh of INC from Aligarh Constituency have declared cases related to Illegal payments in connection with an election (IPC Section-171H). Ramesh V. Katti of BJP from Chikkodi constituency and Furkan Ansari of INC from Godda Constituency have declared cases related to undue influence or personation at an election (IPC Section-171F)

After having a look at all above figure, don’t you think it is a challenge for each and every voter to select the right candidate for himself? So today itself, open up your eyes, your brains and vote for the best deserving candidate, not thinking just about you but thinking about our country, people around and a lot more then.

Advice for the film producers: quit the release for 2014, we have real life national drama going on.

What do the drama creators of political parties think of themselves? Young India, Religious India, Common Man.. all these terms are enough to fool Intelligent India?

Get a life leaders, we don't need to hear good terms, we need to see you actually working on good terms.

It seems like every political party is creating a new fuss these days, lots of new promises, lot of fake plans and lots and lots of commitments. But none seems actually working up to the marks. New India has lots of expectations from the political leaders and past 5 years has just made us look down. No Congress, No BJP, then who the hell would be creating progress and betterment of the country? AAP? A Big joke on the expectations and hope of common men.

Let’s face it, there could not be a better politics now, the only thing that could be done is implementing good rules to the constitution of India. Particularly, the rules affecting the right and duties of not the common man, but those ruling us.

Indian Society Is Regressive For Women

Recently there was a great controversy around a statement of Indian Actress Malika Sherawat, who mentioned that Indian society is regressive for women; The actress was addressing a press conference when a female journalist questioned her why the star would search for her true love in her home country India, when she had publically earlier declared the county ‘regressive and depressing’. To this Malika Sherawat launched her on-spot impassioned response by urging the reporter to ‘Do Your Homework’. The journalist, according to Sherawat had taken the quote out of context.

She was referring to Variety interview from May, during which actress discussed her role in ‘Dirty Politics’ and how splitting her time between U.S. and India has helped shape her world view.

“I made a conscious decision to divide my time between Los Angeles, America and India,” the actress told Variety. “So now when I’ve experienced that social freedom, when I go back to India, which is so regressive for women, it’s depressing.

As an independent women, it’s really depressing.” Sherawat impressed that she was specifically talking about the state of affairs forwomen when she called India regressive.

She then drove home her point by mentioning the rampant cases of female feticide, infanticide, gang rapes, honour killings and the fact that 40 percent of Indian women are married below the age of 18.

And when the reporter suggested that Sherawat should watch what she says because she's painting India in a poor light, the journalist fought back, saying that by focusing on state of women, Sherawat was giving India a bad name abroad.

To which Sherawat responded, “As a woman, I should lie about the state of women that’s in our country?” further she added “So I didn’t lie. I said the truth.”

She made her point quite louder on what she meant and according to me she was very true, we need not be hypothetical and hide the situation that our country is facing. Instead we should try to solve the situation, the current scenario of nation and then proudly say out the truth when it actually changes. The current law and the current system is not giving all necessary punishment that could actually fear the people who plan to rape a woman, it still has many loop holes and lack a lot of strict attitude. There are few cases, which came to limelight and the criminals were punished, due to the fear of people and those who stood against them. But not every case gains the limelight and so not every criminal gets the proper punishment that they deserve. When a woman dies of rape or any such assault, it’s not only a woman that dies, with her dies the confidence of many more woman, with her dies the hope and faith of her parents, her near and dear ones. With that particular woman, many of her close ones get into the darkness and gets on to the depression. Out of those women being raped, some are also mother of small children, had anyone given a thought that after the incident what those little ones would suffer for a lifetime? No, we don’t think much, sometimes just some years of prison and sometimes not even that, is that enough to improve the state of woman?

Few of the states in India are still suffering from the dowry system that forces parents to kill the female foeticides, as they cannot afford to pay a good amount of dowry to marry their child and this future concerns stops them from giving birth to a female child. Some women are killed for dowry after marriage, some are tortured for dowry and some silently kills them to come out of this torture. Not only rape and dowry, there are many more things as such which is torturing the freedom of a woman. Indian women’s plight does not have a limit. This few issues are just to be named, domestic violence is also a part of it, poor education in the villages for female child, self esteem, and demonization, etc are many things that women of India are suffering from.

Indian society needs to have a broader view on the women empowerment and self esteem. If you yourself are willing to solve this, start from your home, start from your circle, encourage every woman in your knowledge to fight for themselves, to protect themselves and to speak for themselves. If a woman is suffering from domestic violence, support her and encourage her to take step against it and come out of it, don’t discourage her by saying to think her about her child’s future, or what society would say after her taking a step. Make her think positive, make her understand that rather then suffering for lifetime, it is better to fight for the time and make the life better. If a lady is being tortured for dowry, don’t tell her parents to pay it, it would only encourage the crime, instead ask to punish those greedy monsters for their act and if they cannot change their mind, they better face the prison instead of a innocent woman killing herself and leaving those greedy monster with a chance to harrash one more woman like her.
