AAP - Future of India???

Aam Aadmi Party – Means Common Man Party and abbreviated as AAP. A new political party emerges in India and Shocks everyone with a strong election results in Delhi. Political grounds are shaking all over the world and it seems India is the latest nation to experience such tremors. Frustrated with the inept governance of ruling Congress Party, and unwilling to embrace what is seen as corporate backed Hindus-nationalist opposition BJP – Bhartiya Janta Party, many Indians, specially seen in elections result of Delhi, are looking to embrace something new.

In local assembly elections held at Delhi, India’s sprawling capital, the Aam Aadmi Party won 28 out of 70 seats. The leader of AAP – Mr. Arvind Kejriwal himself beat the Chief Minister of the city, a veteran of the ruling Congress party who had dismissed the AAP as ‘Not even on our radar’ when it was founded a year ago, by a massive 27,000 vote margin. Congress was literally wiped out of Delhi, reduced to eight seats.

Every news channel showing the tremendous emerge of AAP and Mr. Kejriwal’s name flashing all over the media and news. But where did it actually came from? The Aam Aadmi Party – So called Common Man Party. How it all started? And how did it became so big in such a small period of time, which decreased the size of huge ruler Congress & the opposition BJP, the parties in command since years. What happened? Why the sudden air of change was blowing over the political campus of India?

Let’s take a look from the eye of a real common man, like you and me. Suddenly, on the news channel and social media we all of us heard a uncommon name as Kishan Baburao ‘Anna’ Hazare, more commonly known as Anna Hazare, who was born in 1937 and is widely known as a social activist who led movements to promote rural development, increase government transparency and investigate and punish official corruption. In 1992 he was awarded the Padma Bhushan – The third highest civilian award by the Government of India, for his efforts in establishing Ralegan Siddhi, a village in Parner Taluka of Ahmednagar as a model for the others. Thereafter suddenly in 2011 we heard about Anna Hazare starting a indefinite hunger strike on 5th day of April to exert pressure on The Indian Government to enact a stringent anti-corruption law, The Lokpal Bill, 2011 as envisaged in the Jan Lokpal Bill, for the institution of an ombudsman with the power to deal with corruption in public areas. This fast let to nationwide protest and support. The fast ended on 9th April 2011, a day after the government accepted his demands. And then comes the entry of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal in support of Anna Hazare and for his role in drafting a proposed Jan Lokpal Bill. Prior to this he has worked as a former Indian Revenue Service officer and politician. He has worked for IRS as a Joint Commissioner in the Income Tax Department. He has also won a Ramon Magsaysay Award for emergent leadership in 2006 for his contribution to the enactment of the Right To Information Act and his efforts to empower the poorest citizens of India.

The origins of the AAP can be traced to a difference of opinion between Arvind Kejriwal and Anna Hazare, social activists who had both been involved in Team Anna, a strand of the anti-corruption movement for Jan Lokpal Bill that had gained momentum in India during 2011 and 2012. Hazare had wanted to keep the movement politically neutral but Kejriwal considered that direct involvement in politics was necessary because attempts to obtain progress regarding the Jan Lokpal Bill through talks with existing political parties had, in his opinion, achieved nothing. A survey conducted by the India Against Corruption organisation using social networking services had indicated that there was wide support for politicisation.

Hazare and Kejriwal agreed on 19 September 2012 that their differences regarding a role in politics were irreconcilable. Kejriwal had support from some well-known people involved in the anti-corruption movement, such as Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan, but was opposed by others such as Kiran Bedi and Santosh Hegde. On 2 October, Kejriwal announced that he was forming a political party and that he intended the formal launch to be 26 November, coinciding with the anniversary of India's adoption of its constitution in 1949.

The party name reflects the phrase Aam Aadmi, or "common man", whose interests Kejriwal proposed to represent. A party constitution was adopted on 24 November 2012, when a National Council comprising 320 people and a National Executive of 23 were also formed. Both the Council and the Executive were expected to have more members in due course, with the intention being that all districts and all classes of people would have a voice. Various committees were to be formed to draft proposals for adoption by the party in a process that was expected to take several months. Although one aim was to limit nepotism, there were complaints at this initial meeting that the selection of people invited to attend was itself an example of such practices. The party was formally launched in Delhi on 26 November and in March 2013 it was registered as a political party by the Election Commission of India.

And now after the results of Delhi Election AAP is not just a ordinary party but a party who has emerged suddenly and taken of the grounds from age old rulers BJP & Congress. The Natural reason for this is seen as planning of Mr. Kejriwal, but actual fact is that Indian Common man is so much disappointed by both the big name parties that they were looking for the options that could become a better rule and hence the success of AAP was sudden. But do you think that we would be able to get a good leader in a new emerging party, when we were so disappointed by the age old experienced leaders and best economist such as Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh?

Time to think, AAP, BJP, Congress, RJD and many such parties all over India and what are we getting? Babaji Ka Thullu? India needs a political renovation, let’s see if AAP can bring it or emerging of AAP can create renovation in BJP or Congress. Let’s See!

As of now, the picture of not taking support in making the government in Delhi just makes me think that AAP, BJP and Congress all are just playing with political field of India and the emotions of Voters of India. Horribly Disgusting! If they didn't had a backup plan to create a government, then why the hell were they contesting the elections???

Relationships - Confusing, Ain't It?

Not every relationship has a meaning, not every relationship has a cause, not every relationship has a happy ending and not every relationship starts with a beautiful beginning. In fact to the best of my knowledge there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. It’s how two people deal with their imperfections that makes you perfect.  Every relationship is uncommon and every relationship has a unique meaning in itself and only the person in that relationship actually understands the meaning of being there. That is because in every relationship the two persons are unique. There has never been a person exactly like you, God never creates a copy. Even two identical twins have different likes, different thoughts and different manners. So this tells us, we must never compare our relationship with any other relationships. People often do this mistake and often end up spoiling their own charm of a relationship.

We human by nature are so greedy that we can’t usually control our wants and need and that is the reason, nothing actually satisfies us. And until we are satisfied within ourselves we keep on searching a reason to be blamed on, usually those reason can be easily found in and around in your relationships, more often in relationships like Spouse, Living Partner or Lover. Finally there comes a time, when this human nature of ours starts believing on our own blames. Fact is that we are not satisfied, actually no one is and so we blame it on someone to start on and then finally we take those blame so seriously that we start believing it as a precision. The relationship doesn’t succeed until we have door of choice open, once we close that door of choice and start living and accepting the situation we are in, usually things do change, if not at least the view towards it becomes positive. Whenever ever, you are in a situation when you need to re-think about your relationship, close the doors of choice on your face. Think of consequences of each and every door and path getting from there and finally you will get way out to improve your current situation, your present relationship and most of the time it works. The two people in a relationship are the only two people in the world who could make the relationship work or fail. There is no other person who can play a key role in spoiling or improving it until you personally aren’t willing to do so.

Usually there are times, when good people keep on staying in a bad relationship as well. I had a friend, who almost cried daily for 8 years, she was badly unhappy with her relationship still refused to move out. Sometimes there are those consequences also when you have no other option but to leave and still at times people cannot just move on. Psychology says that how and why humans attach themselves another and form relationships may be that is the mysterious crazy glue that keeps us in a relationship. Some people are afraid of falling in love or relationship because of bad experiences, some people are afraid of trusting blindly in a relationship by hearing the cases of breach and betrayal, whereas some people are also afraid of moving out of relationship because of society issues, future issues and sometimes impact of it on their children. We actually don’t know which fear out of all this fears are true and we also don’t know the limit of staying in a relationship or limit of moving out. There are no so called rules and regulations for a relationship. As I mentioned earlier there are no identical humans and so there cannot be an identical level of compromises or tolerance. When a human attaches himself/herself to another human in a manner where we actually feel committed, he/she keeps on trying as much as possible to stay in that relationship. It is usually a traumatic condition and sometimes you lose everything in the process of keeping your relationship intact and sometimes chances are that you may discover the hidden treasure of your relationship.

According to me it’s worth taking a chance in your relationship as much as it is possible from your side. We cannot predict the future, we don’t know what our next relationship could hold for us or we even don’t know that we would ever again be able to attach ourselves in a manner with any other individual? Think again, give yourself a chance, give your relationship the attention and try to cultivate it by every possible means. Who knows that seed of love can bring on the plant of happiness for your future!

Finally, A true relationship is when someone accepts your past, supports your present and encourages your future, where you can be yourself and where you don’t have a burden to hide on, where-in you can fly like a free bird, have your own world, have your own wings yet behold the treasure of flying together.

Narendra Modi Vs. Rahul Gandhi

It is a war-of-rallies, Sunday - as India gets set for a Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi show.

While the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is all ready with his armour of words and social media for the much anticipated Hunkar Rally in ally-turned-foe Nitish Kumar's Bihar, the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Delhi's Mongolpuri area.

It is Modi's maiden stint at a rally in Patna, it is also the first time that both Modi and Rahul will have rallies on the same day.

Rahul Gandhi has shied from talking about Modi in his rallies but the BJP prime ministerial candidate has thrashed and battered the 'Shehzada' despitefully in his recent rallies, last in Udaipur yesterday, claiming a Rajasthan police officer, who wanted to contest elections, had given Rahul "information" on Pakistani spy agency ISI contacting Muslim youth victims of Muzaffarnagar riots.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and other senior Congress leaders are expected to be present at Rahul's rally. Dikshit, in a recent interview had said "Rahul is learning. Let us not pre-judge him, start judging him if he is chosen prime minister when Congress comes to power."

But it is Modi's Rs.100 crore rally that is a high-level game with the BJP claiming to change political equations in Bihar. BJP is eyeing almost one crore first time voters in the state who could be decisive in seeing its prime minister nominee sail through in 2014.

In order to make Modi's 2013 visit to the state a grand success, a 15 member BJP's IT-cell has been working day and night behind the scene to mobilise support for the rally. Seven hard core IT-professionals have been deployed by the party's Bihar unit to formulate a strategy to make a maximum reach to the voters. 1.5 lakh people have affirmed their participation in the rally through social media, online and mobile registration.

From asking the President to reschedule his Bihar visit to not charging people to attend the rally, BJP has meticulously planned every move to ensure the making of a historic rally.

But actually, we as a public should consider which one of these big names as our future Prime Minister of India? Confused? Well don’t worry, actually everyone is confused on the point, apart from the diehard followers.  Let’s try a chart of comparison between both of them and see if any one of those leader are better than their competitor? Let us hope that leaders will not mind our comparison.

Similarities:
Both talk about dreams – of others and of their own.
Both talk about the aspirations of young India.
Both claim to have a vision of a better India.
And both despite the hype surrounding them make little sense.

That is probably where the similarities in the typical Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi speeches end. The differences are more pronounced.

Differences:
One is self-conscious to the point of being diffident
The other is overconfident to the point of being unbearable.

Rahul appears to be person burdened with a role for which he has had no adequate preparation.
Modi carries the airs of a man who can do no wrong.

One is aloof, the other desperate.

The former reflects the state of mind of a confused home-grown philosopher and the latter the cockiness of a man who believes who can get away with anything, including lies. To put it unsubtly, one comes across as a novice to the job and the other as a seasoned actor good at manipulating people.

Rahul Gandhi’s speech at Baran in Rajasthan on Tuesday was insipid and soulless, the same way it was in Jaipur a few days ago. In Jaipur, he had claimed “I am ready to forgo my own dreams to fulfill your dreams’’; in his speech yesterday, he spoke about how the poorest in India should have the biggest dream. “If we don’t let you dream, India can’t progress,” he said.

The dream theme is surely getting overdone.

The Congress vice-president appears to be running out of content to make his speeches fresh and lively or he is tiring already. His speech writers must exert themselves some more.

Not a natural orator like Modi, Rahul fails to build emotional connect with the audience. He could make this weakness up with details, specifics and anecdotes. In none of his public speeches, has he appeared to have enough depth to keep the audience engaged. Possibly, it comes from his lack of exposure to real responsibility or real understanding of the people he claims to identify with: the aam aadmi.

Election speeches are supposed to be a communication exercise.

For someone who has been in politics and among people for nine years, he communicates very little that’s worthwhile. At least he could have a couple of good speakers in his entourage. Modi’s case is different. He is a competent public speaker and like all competent public speakers he knows what works with the audience. He does not mind making exaggerated claims about his achievements and he is never embarrassed about letting slip a lie or two to make a point. By now, the country is aware that this man can carry the audience with the force of his eloquence. The substance in his speeches, however, still remains a grey area.

Impressive speeches are alright but a lot more clarity on issues is required from a man who aspires to be prime minister of the country.

Rahul obviously is more disappointing than Modi.

The feeling of disenchantment is aggravated by the fact that he shows no inclination to assume any responsibility unlike the latter. Ambition and hunger for power are not bad until they become an obsession. One man is at least trying to achieve something for himself and stick his neck out, while it is difficult to understand what the other is up to.

The speeches of both reflect the difference – Modi’s have a hint of desperation; Rahul’s a touch of aloofness.

As the whole country views on television and reads in every newspaper the battle between Mr. Narendra Modi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi, I am only worried that we have actually come to this. We don’t care anymore about thought, kindness, honesty, action, responsibility, courage, leadership. We have one person who refuses to answer any question on the blood on his hands as Chief Minister and another who is being projected as a mature philosopher when we actually need a dynamic leader.

Recently at one of his many public appearances, Mr. Modi was asked whether he would take moral responsibility for the 2002 riots, to which he replied that he had already answered questions about the riots numerous times. But the same man has over the last few months been willing to answer time and again the same questions about his developed Gujarat.

Every time Mr. Modi’s name is discussed, the riots are a part of the narrative and the criticism is that we are trapping him within that event. But why not? Any person with some human essence must ask those questions time and again. Whether or not he was party to the violence is up to the courts to decide, but he was the Chief Minister of the State and has refused to say that he should have acted differently. How can we ever ignore that? In fact we should not. In my travels I have always met so many middle class Indians who think Mr. Modi is the Bill Gates of Indian politics. “Go to Gujarat and see the transformation, development, bridges, roads, IT companies, the speed of decision making and you will realise why he is the right person for us.” When I hear these statements I am filled with sadness that we as a society can easily erase people from our minds. We say that the courts have not convicted Mr. Modi, but we readily accuse someone else as being a criminal even when no verdict has been proclaimed. Essentially, economic growth seems to erase all sense of human decency.

I am also told that “after all the Muslims have also voted for him.” Honestly, I don’t care if all the Muslims in the world voted for him. I care that people died, not Muslims, Christians or Hindus. I am not aware of the voting patterns of Gujarat, that’s for psephologists. But I am aware that reasons for a minority community to behave in a certain way are usually driven by the behavior of the dominant group. The “dominants” manipulate and coerce the weak to act in certain ways. The positive economic changes seen in the lives of the majority also influences the behavioral pattern of the minority. I am not saying these are the reasons but let us just keep this in mind.

We as human beings are built to empathize and feel for others. Let us not lose sight of this basic quality of humanity in the dream of economic comfort or seeming political “stability.” I would rather be poor than inhuman! Narendra Modi, I will not stop asking you this: “Will you take moral responsibility for the riots?” You owe this country an answer.

While this is one end of the political narrative, there exists another in the form of a smart, genuine young man who needs to know what he is doing. Someone has to tell Rahul Gandhi that he is not a philosopher and India doesn't need one in him! We need a strong individual who is honest and willing to show courage. He need not constantly mention the problems of the political and bureaucratic class. We are only too aware of its failings, and are constantly made aware of them. We do not need a “magic wand” but someone with a will to change things and has not until date shown any will. Rahul Gandhi has floated thoughts on “what Indian society is suffering from.”  But so, what next? There seems to be a state of unconsciousness hovering over him, a cloud of inertia and intellectual lethargy. The country can ill afford a slumber of ideas, courage and determination in a man who is meant to be waking the nation up. What one misses in Rahul Gandhi is not earnestness of objective, not sincerity, but a crucial breaking of the trust barrier, a totally convincing breakthrough in winning the nation’s trust. He can fight all his political battles with Narendra Modi or anyone else but first he must be willing to fight the battle of his life for this country. Unless the nation sees him do that how can it entrust its future to him? His advisers don’t seem to see that the absence of a trust breakthrough in Rahul Gandhi is what Narendra Modi is cashing in on and substituting with his own brand of “I can do it” in surplus. India needs a good human being at its helm but also a proactive person with serious, practical ideas of how to change this nation. We have in him an exhaustively long prologue; what we need now is the main action.

Watching this presidential style battle being played out in the media on an everyday basis has only further increased my disappointment in us as a society. Urban India is intoxicated by these two people, and the so-called “real India” is being manipulated by the same individuals. The end result is that India seems to have reached a political dead end. What other options do we have? We can not only look for other options but can actually force a change from these two. It is up to us to demand decency and human empathy, responsibility-owning from Narendra Modi and courage and determination from Rahul Gandhi. If neither have it in them then they don’t deserve our votes, and nor do their parties, bereft as they are of ideas for change.

Unfortunately looking at the situation of Indian Politics, expecting a bright India would be stupidity. But in consideration with the no choice situation apart from Narendra Modi or Rahul Gandhi, we must tell them what could make them preferred Prime Minister.

Few things to do for Mr. Narendra Modi, in order for him to be a preferred PM of India:
  • He should tender a sincere and unconditional apology to Muslims for the post-Godhra riots
  • He should spell out a precise vision for India’s future—economic, political and social.
  • He should be publically acceptable to at least 10 non-BJP parties that formed the NDA coalition.
  • He should demonstrate his ability to build consensus—both within and outside his party.
  • He should quit as Chief Minister of Gujarat after 6 to 12 months and travel across India, connecting with people.
  • He should develop a better understanding of geopolitics and international relations than he has demonstrated so far.

Few things to do for Mr. Rahul Gandhi, in order for him to be a preferred PM of India:
  • He should ends his splendid isolation and interacts more openly and more often with the public.
  • He must try to build and shares a concrete vision for India.
  • His stand on key economic issues should be made clearer.
  • He must demonstrate leadership skills within his party, rather than mentioning the phrases like 'My Mom, My Dad, My Grand Mom'.
  • He must speak his view rather than speaking just a overdone speech written by those script writers.
  • He becomes more specific on points and topic that he is actually talking about.

Until and unless those things mentioned above are done by any one of them, in my view none of them is the appropriate or preferred Prime Minister for better future of India.

An Unknown Treasure Hunt – Dreamed By Unknown Priest

In September 2013, a local priest named Shobhan Sarkar, who is also revered as a Mahant, claimed that a 19th-century king of Daundia Khera, Ram Baksh Singh, had come to him in a dream and told him that 1000 tons of gold treasure was buried under his palace. In an interview to Wall Street Journal, Sarkar said that the ghost of Singh is worried about the Indian economy and he wants the treasure to be used for the economic growth of the country. Sarkar called the dream "a divine intervention" but refused to tell how, when and why only he learned about the buried treasure. The British had hanged Singh during the 1857 rebellion and destroyed his palace. Sarkar wrote to the Prime Minister, President and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) about his dream but his letters went ignored. Some sources say that Sarkar then approached Charan Das Mahant, a Minister of State for agriculture and the food processing industry in the Government of India, while other sources say that the minister heard of the story from a pandit in Kanpur who regularly kept in touch with him.

Now, who actually was Raja Rao Ram Baksh Singh, sources say that he was a Hindu zamindar of Dundiakhera in Unnao district in erstwhile Oudh province of British India. He was one of the leaders of Revolt of 1857 and close associate of Nana Sahib. He was hanged by British on 28 December 1857 for taking part in revolt and being guilty of killing of British soldiers. In 1992, Government of India had built a memorial at the place, where he was hanged, to honour his martyrdom.

And then coming on to the so called pandit named Shobhan Sarkar. Actually Shobhan is a village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh where the sadhu has his ashram. He is called Sarkar by his followers. But no one knows his real name. The name of Shobhan Sarkar ashram’s saint is mentioned as Bhaskaranand Dev.

Shobhan Sarkar's followers claim that he is not publicity hungry and does not come before the media. He does not like to be photographed and has asked his followers not to worship him. Interestingly, his guru was also called Sarkar. Shobhan Sarkar has asked his followers to worship his master like god. Shobhan Sarkar is a disciple of Swami Raghunandan Das who 90 years ago laid the founded Shivli Ashram near Kanpur. But when CM of Gujarat Mr. Narendra Modi exclaimed on the matter, news reports say; Sadhu Shobhan Sarkar has slammed Modi for saying that the Delhi government has started excavation after someone claimed that there is buried gold lowering the country's image globally. In the letter Sarkar said, "I want to tell you humbly that in a hurry to hit out at the Central government and Sonia Gandhi, you have disrespected a saint. The dream of Sri Swami Shobhan Sarkar is to make India the world's most powerful economic force. I had earlier sent a letter to the Central government, the state government and district administration asking them for a GSI investigation of an area in Dhondia village and requested them to caary out an excavation based on the GSI report. I request an influential leader like you (Modi) not to waste time on such talk."

This whole incident made me wonder with few of the questions, that we all must ponder over:
  • If the Gold was actually buried under the palace of Raja Rao Ram Baksh Singh, then why did he not come in the dream of any one since more than 100 years? Was he not worried for the Indian economy during all this years? Or was Indian economy never faced crisis during those years?
  • If the claim of Gold is so true and if at all Gold is found from the mentioned area, will it actually affect the Indian Economy and will it be used for a purpose it is meant to be?
  • What if the mentioned treasure is not actually found after digging the whole place? Who would be punishable for the act, the saint who dreamed about it or ASI who believed in such a story with minimal proofs?
  • And if there were adequate proof present of the story, with the maps and all, then why was the government not digging for treasure from all this years? Were they waiting for critical elections to come?

Questions are endless and answers are just hopes as of now. Let us see what this treasure hunts brings on the future of India, A Better Economy or Laugh From The World.

Are We Dead?

Are we dead? Or is their something like mankind still alive inside us?

Pondering over the question and wish each and every of the person should once ask this question to themselves. What has happened to the society? What has happened to the mankind? Why are we behaving like cats and dogs or even worst then them?

Yes I really mean we… Because it is one of us who raped the 5 year old child, battered and had plastic bottles and candles shoved inside her. Horrific! Terribly Horrific! He wasn’t a criminal or a serial killer, the person who is in doubts for the case; he was just a normal human living in the neighbourhood, just like you and me. The person who is equally rightful and dutiful towards society has acted like a demon.

And to add to it, it is being said that police people gave a bribe of Rs. 2,000/- to shut up and also asked her father to be thankful for she is alive. If that is true, then I think those policemen should be shot dead. Not much far in December we stood up for damini and protested and finally the girl died, but at least her destroyers were properly taken in the custody. Why can’t we stand up, why can’t we unite altogether this time also and ask for the justice to the tiny little gal.

Stand up, protest and make this government realize that we are not blind, we are not deaf and seriously we can’t be fooled every now and then on the name of law and justice. Let’s do something, let’s raise the voice.

Bura Na Mano Holi Hai

Holi is an ancient festival of India and was originally known as 'Holika'. Historians believe that Holi was celebrated by all Aryans but more so in the Eastern part of India.

It is said that Holi existed several centuries before Christ. However, the meaning of the festival is believed to have changed over the years. Earlier it was a special rite performed by married women for the happiness and well-being of their families and the full moon (Raka) was worshiped. However, the literal meaning of the word 'Holi' is 'burning'. There are various legends to explain the meaning of this word, most prominent of all is the legend associated with demon king Hiranyakashyap.

Hiranyakashyap wanted everybody in his kingdom to worship only him but to his great disappointment, his son, Prahlad became an ardent devotee of Lord Naarayana. Hiaranyakashyap commanded his sister, Holika to enter a blazing fire with Prahlad in her lap. Holika had a boon whereby she could enter fire without any damage on herself. However, she was not aware that the boon worked only when she enters the fire alone. As a result she paid a price for her sinister desires, while Prahlad was saved by the grace of the god for his extreme devotion. The festival, therefore, celebrates the victory of good over evil and also the triumph of devotion.

Legend of Lord Krishna is also associated with play with colors as the Lord started the tradition of play with colours by applying colour on his beloved Radha and other gopis. Gradually, the play gained popularity with the people and became a tradition.

Holika Dahan:
Then on the eve of Holi, Holika Dahan takes place. Effigy of Holika, the devil minded sister of demon King Hiranyakashyap is placed in the wood and burnt. For, Holika tried to kill Hiranyakashyap's son Prahlad, an ardent devotee of Lord Naarayana. The ritual symbolises the victory of good over evil and also the triumph of a true devotee.

Play of Colors
Next day, is of course the main day of Holi celebrations. The day is called Dhuleti and it is on this day that the actual play of colours take place. There is no tradition of holding puja and is meant for pure enjoyment.

The tradition of playing colours is particularly rampant in north India and even in that region, there can be no comparison to the Holi of Mathura and Vrindavan. In Maharashtra and Gujarat too Holi is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and fun.

People take extreme delight in spraying colour water on each other with pichkaris or pouring buckets and buckets of it. But now with the changing tradition the color playing festival has gradually changed itself. Singing Bollywood Holi numbers and dancing on the beat of dholak is also a part of the tradition Drinks, especially thandai laced with bhang is also an intrinsic part of the Holi festivity. According to people, they believe Bhang helps to further enhance the spirit of the occasion and hence has become a important part of the celebration.

Previously, people use to make colours from the flower extract as holi is also the start of season spring and was celebrated to show the colours of spring as well a the season of love. But now the tradition has changed to toxic colours which are harmful for your skin, hair and eyes and still to get long lasting colour stay, people forcefully use this kind of colours. Not only does the colour do the harm, but nowadays with the changing tradition of holi celebration, people and specially the young boys are taking holi as chance to tease girls and a chance to get to touch them and abuse them. Due to this reason, many reputed families have stopped their girls from going out and playing the holi, whereas some of the girls themselves have taken a back step from the tradition of playing holi. They are not even so safe that they can enjoy the festival in the neighbourhood around the street with their own friends. Many incidents do occur blaming the tradition of holi and encouraging youth towards crime on the festival.

If none of us or our law are going to take the strict actions against the toxic colours being used in holi and the abuse being done to the female, the day is not far when the traditional holi festival would be vanished and the criminalist side of the festival would be visible to the world.

Be Proud To Be A Woman

Not every woman is a good home maker
Not every woman is a good cook
Not every woman is a good writer
Not every woman is a good artist
Not every woman is a good singer
Not every woman is a good struggler
Not every woman is a good business mind
Not every woman is a good teacher
Not every woman is a good spokes person
Not every woman is a good leader
Not every woman is a good house wife
Not every woman is a good researcher
But still for sure every woman is special..

There is one or other thing special in every individual and I say more in woman because it is said that woman are the best creation of God. According to a verse it is also said that ‘Every woman is a gift when she becomes daughter, Every woman is beautiful when she becomes lover, Every woman is special when she becomes wife and Every woman is GOD when she becomes mother’. Be proud that you are a woman and be proud that you are born to create the universe. Be proud coz you are from the gender that is born and nurtured with special gifts.

Despite of all flaws in you, I am very sure there is something very special hidden in you at some corner, the need only is to find that special talent, that special thing from within you. The seeds of this special thing or talent are there within you since you are born, the only need is to notice them and cultivate them. Talent is an ability or natural capacity that we have, which may range from our creativity or intelligence or even social skills to our athletic abilities. We all have talents, but we are not always good in identifying them or may be just never thought about it and hence we miss it even when it is right in front of us.

To know and understand this special ability of yours is very simple, one must need to just do a bit of self research. Don’t be overwhelmed with someone who is good at calculating, designing, decorating or writing, just look for what you are good at. Do praise what others do, but never force yourself to do something that is not your cup of tea. Read yourself, ask yourself what you enjoy to do and what you love doing and then recall the things that you were complimented for by many people from your friends, family or any xyz person. Do you think you have been often complimented for cooking good? Then try your talents on cooking itself. Do you think you have been complimented for making people understand and explain them? Then you could be a good counsellor. Do you think you have been often noticed when writing something out of blue? Then you could be a good writer. This is the way to judge yourself and find out what is special within you and as I said earlier, everybody has a special talent which is gifted by God, so the need is to search for it and not let it go in vain.

The day when you find out your hidden talent, don’t hide it for be it anything. Don’t think what people are going to say about it, don’t think about the society and what kind of work it is, coz no work is actually small or big, no talent is actual respectable or unrespectable. It totally depends upon you on how you pursue it and how you bring it out to the world. Once you have found your best ability no one can keep you down and you are surely to rise with your own potential. Be brave enough to do the right justice with your potential yourself and there will be a day when world will bow down on your feet and salute you. Every woman is special and should know her own self worth. A woman should never compromise her integrity, her love for herself, or anything about her that God has given her that makes her unique. She is an amazing being, with unlimited potential. She has the capability of completing several of life tasks, simultaneously, without one compliant. She can be very strong willed and can have the strength of a lioness, when needed. At the same time she can be very gentle, meek, and mild. She has beauty glowing all about, even if at times she doesn’t see it.

At the start, when you find your talent and take the time to pursue it and cultivate it, there will be time of struggle, but you must not be afraid to fight this battle for yourself, for your dignity. Whatever we achieve in life is through struggle. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through our life without any obstacles, we would be crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance, leave no room for regrets, and don't forget the power in the struggle, don’t forget to give your talents and most of all yourself a true justice.

Sushil Kumar Shinde

Oh My GOD! I really love the ministers of India, Specially the Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who can actually read out parts of his statement twice in Lok Sabha on the attack of CRPF troopers in Srinagar, adding to the list of his blunder.

Well, we all actually know that whatever you guys say that is not what actually you mean. It is just as the same like a writer writing a script for the actor and actors reading it in front of the camera in their voice. The only difference between those heroic acts and from our ministers are that, unfortunately ministers don’t get a retake. I wish they could and I truly favour their condition.

What kind of people we have chosen actually to rule us, I still don’t understand. As of now our government is such a mess that no reasonable and knowledgeable person would actually like to come and join the party and those barely good for nothing people don’t have a better job then politics. And if there comes a time when a person truly good, educated and logical ever tries to join the ministry and takes the step, the corrupt, illiterate people would just try to pull them down, for they do feel insecure. One person as such if enters into this Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, I am sure the revolution is no far. But regret to know that it would never happen and we are going to end up hearing the words written by those script writers and putting a round of applause when we have nothing better to do.

Horrible!!!

Age Of Consent !!

THE much talked about ‘age of consent’ refers to the age at which a person’s consent to have sex is recognised as valid in the eyes of the law. Engaging in sexual activity with persons below this age is a criminal offence irrespective of the consent of such person. However, determining the age of consent has always been a complex exercise. As we all know regarding the proposed bill for decreasing the age of consent from 18 to 16 years, what is the actual deciding factor and would this change be any helpful to society or is it going to add the burdens and worries on the head of much concerned parents of young gals.

Not much prior somewhere in 2012 was it argued to extend to back the age of sexual consent as 18 years is that “body does not mature to have sex at a young age”. For the HIV/AIDS lobby, the mantra has been that governments can, to some extent, reduce the risk of HIV infection among young by rising the age of consent for sex, and also marriage. At that time may be government had some other issues in front of them and now, there is a change again after the raise of voice against the Delhi gang rape case. One case affected the ministers and government to act, without thinking about the concerns of parents and without taking the opinion from normal public, like you and me.

Changing the laws every now and then just makes it more confusing for people to actually understand it and obey. Can't we have better amendments of law by taking all possible concerns into mind and by the wish and approval of we people?

Yes I actually mean we people and that is because after all democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people. Then why we do not have the benefit of the democracy while changing the laws which we are actually to face and follow. There should be a means, a source, a way, just like voting when a amendment is being done to the laws affecting general public and the opinion from us should also be taken. We can actually overlook the amendment of rule where in they increase power of certain ministry and decrease the level of certain ranks but laws like consent of age are actually affecting us. The parents of teenagers and to some extend to the teenagers themselves too, it is a kind of change in the society which cannot be decided by 790 individuals seating on the seats of Parliament.

Think, Re-Think and Raise Your Voice For The Change Of Your Society & Let’s Participate In The Change, Let’s Be Heard Before The Change Happens, Let Our Opinions Matter!

Prepare Yourself - Dream Big - Be Positive

Positive self talk pushes the chemistry of your brain in a positive direction. When you use positive self talk on a regular basis, you do more than creating a positive mind. You actually create a positive brain or a wave that generates the positivity within you and around you.

Everyday when you wake up in the morning, recall the things that you failed to accomplish yesterday and give yourself a new ray of hope, console yourself by saying ‘I Can, I Should & I Will’. Then remind yourself the few good things about yourself, say ‘I am strong, I am beautiful, I am loved, I am hopeful, I am courageous, Thou not perfect I am getting better with every passing day by trying and not giving up’.

We should always have a positive self-image of ourselves and believe that we can accomplish great things in life. We should never let our past shortfalls keep us stagnant and discourage us from believing for better things for our future. As long as God is on His Throne, then our story isn't finished yet. Even though we have failed in the past, we can stand up again and accomplish that which is still deep in our hearts.

Be encouraged to have a renewed outlook on your dreams and aspirations. Prepare yourself for victory. Do what is necessary to meet the challenge. Become disciplined, diligent, unwavering, and steadfast in faith and resolve to strengthen your will to never become disheartened. With faith in yourself all things and everything is possible for you. Dream big and accomplish your desires.

You Are Here Not To Impress Anyone

Speak Up Quotes

Stand Up, Speak Up!

Never be silent just because someone else wants you to be.

Changes happen when enough people speak up in same voice.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

He who does not have the courage to speak up for his rights cannot earn the respect of others.

Speak your mind because no matter how carefully you choose your words, they’ll be twisted by others.

If you are not going to speak up, how the world is supposed to know that you exist?

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Females Can Have Liberty Too!

Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment.

French philosopher Charles Fourier is credited with having originated the word "feminism" in 1837. The words "feminism" and "feminist" first appeared in France and the Netherlands in 1872, Great Britain in the 1890s, and the United States in 1910 and the Oxford English Dictionary lists 1894 as the year of the first appearance of "feminist" and 1895 for "feminism". Today the Oxford English Dictionary defines a feminist as "an advocate or supporter of the rights and equality of women".

According to the Oxford English Dictionary and its definition I am not a feminist, but I truly support feminism. Here on my diary I want to mention the true meaning of feminism. Not jut being a woman, not just being a supporter of a woman, but I am proud to belong to a community to which the world calls female. Unlike much mentioned stories I was not an unwanted female child in my family since I was born. My parents were happy to have me and my parents gave me what at that time a male child might would have not acquire. At every point of time, I was given the importance, I was given the freedom and I was given the dignity, especially from my mother. And may be that is the reason when I get to hear about the comments being made on females to cover up their freedom and true gestures, I feel humiliated / disgraced.

The high ranked officers, the well knowledgeable politician and some of the reputed people of the society are often manifest to be guiding women on what to wear and what not to wear. Sometimes they are been suggested to not wearing shorts, sometimes they are guided on not putting make ups, at other times they are warned not to go alone around or late at night. Are we following a jungle rule? Strong wins? Or are we living in a well developed, educated and secured society? Can we rather not take measures on preventing the breach against the women; can we not help them live their freedom of life and the freedom of thoughts?

No, we are still living in a age old man ruling society where a honourable minister being a male is free to dissent in favour of the rapist saying that he wasn’t responsible for his mistake, it just happened because a female was going out alone at night or because she was well dressed or because she was wearing shorts. BULLSHIT!!! I am against those people, strictly against them who stop women from living their freedom of life and thoughts to protect them. If protecting means covering up, then the day isn’t far when our country would be subsequently following the rules as of Afghanistan.

Courage To Speak Against!

It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. A ripple of hope which gives courage to others who have been quite for long and never thought that their words would be heard or never thought that they could speak up against the injustice to them or happening in front of them to their fellow society members.

Mostly the people speaking out or raising the first voice are usually not the ones who are suffering; it is the voice of spectators that makes a real difference. Cause in our society it is a normal thinking that if one is speaking for himself/herself no one is going to support people just stand and stare. But if someone is speaking for the others who are not much known to the narrator, then people find the interest in knowing the actual matter and it’s seriousness. Whereas in our society it is also very common to be a spectator and watch everything and comment that, when no one is raising the voice why should I? To that common comment or question, I have a answer. You should because one day the victim could be you and just like you if all the spectator thinks that ‘Why Should I?’ then you as a victim would be in a trouble. But once the society changes their view on speaking for others, raising the voice for others and being not only spectator but a judge, spokesperson or a fighter for the humanity, the scenario will change.

There would be no more gals who would be raped in a public place or place surrounded by people like you. No one would easily dare to snatch your purse and run away. Nobody would be allowed to be so inhuman to hurt you on his speed ride and move on without noticing. No acts of violence would be done in the society where people would be alert. No one would be asking for bribe for admissions and a good post in a government institute. No old man would be waiting years for his pension to start after the hard working years of his life. No politicians would ever dare to make false promises and No voice would ever go unheard then.

But remember this change in the society can be brought from within each of you. It will surely be a true revolution when we will stop asking the question Why Should I? and rather instead ask for a question Why Not Me? Or Why Can’t I?

Raise Your Voice Against Each & Every Crime

Many rape cases going filled in different parts of the country, many gals loosing their confidence and many of them loosing their life. A huge protest and voice was raised against the girl been raped on 16th December 2012 at Munirka, neighbourhood located in the southern part of Delhi. When a 23 year old female physiotherapy intern was beaten and gang raped in a bus she was travelling with her male companion. It was a really good move by the people of India and a immense support was received from outside the country as well, people protesting, marching and doing much more to raise a voice against the suspects and in the favour of victim. 3 months went away to that case and still many more such cases are being filled and many gals are being abused, raped and beaten. But the voices are not actually being raised. WHY? Was she the only girl who needed your support? Should we not feel the same way for every female? Should we not raise the voice against any act we feel wrong or even the corruption? Why not? We must and only if we raise the voices, would our long asleep government come out to take the actions against the suspects.

Many a times we all blame government, many a time we all feel that the system should change, but just willing for the system to be changed won’t actually happen. We must stand up in order to change the system, get-to-gather and force the system to change it’s direction in the favour of people, specially in need.

Let’s not make it lengthy and let’s take a small vow to raise the voice against anything that you feel is not appropriate on your surroundings. Be it a smallest issue or be it a huge influence, but we won’t keep quite and become a dead spectators.
